Why the heck we started doing this!?

2 years ago we went on a Girl's Weekend trip to St George and spent one day doing a canyoneering/rock climbing/rappelling/zip-lining adventure with Paragon Adventures. We absolutely fell in love and said that we really wanted to start climbing and adventuring more. Yeah, that was 2 years ago. Our lives just continued moving forward with this desire to "someday" start.

2 years later we were still talking about it. "Someday" we said. "That would be so amazing" we said.

Then one day, we just sort-of realized that there's always a reason NOT to do something you love, we decided it was time to stop making excuses and go for it!

So we got in touch with Melissa's sister Laura and her friend Erin, who had recently gone on a canyoneering adventure together. We set up a time to go rappelling together and Girls Gone Adventuring was born! We loved every minute of our first Adventure and realized that this was something we were going to keep doing -- we were going to make adventure a REAL part of our lives.

But how? We're moms. With kids, and husbands, and responsibilities and busy lives. We have a million different things going on each week, just like all of you do! We knew we wouldn't be able to do week-end getaways or long extended trips very often, which is how our One-Day Adventures came to pass. These are Adventures that we can do in A DAY. Some days are longer than others, but we can get to the site, do the Adventure, and be back home in a day. You don't need to take a week or go to the expense or hassle of finding a hotel and making it a Week-end trip (although you can if you want!) These adventures are all something you can do in 1 day -- and hey, anyone can find a day in their busy lives to do something they love!

So get out there and Adventure! Explore this beautiful world we've been given and appreciate the beauty around you! If we can do it - YOU can do it too... no more excuses, no more 'somedays' -- grab the bull by the horns and JUST DO IT!
